Foundry Cleaning Services

Foundry cleaning that removes metal shavings, sand, oil and other buildup from surfaces and equipment, planned for your foundry and the materials you work with.

Throughout the Continental U.S.

Foundry Cleaning

A foundry puts metal shavings, sand, oil and slag onto every surface and every machine in it, and none of that comes off with a broom alone. Cleaning one is a sequence rather than a single job.

Recoveron Industrial has the equipment, the knowledge and the experience to do it safely. We stay current on industry standards and comply with OSHA standards and regulations.

What Comes Off a Foundry

Loose debris and slag

Brooms, shovels and scrapers first, because there is no point pressure washing material that can be lifted off dry.

Hardened slag and baked-on deposits

High-pressure water takes off what sweeping and scraping cannot, including material that has been there long enough to become part of the surface.

Pressure washing

Oil, grease and stains

Specialized cleaning solutions matched to the materials present in the foundry rather than applied uniformly across it.

Sand and airborne dust

Vacuumed out of the places it settles, including the overhead structure where nobody looks until it comes down.

Dust collection

Why Bring In a Contractor

Equipment your crew does not have

Industrial vacuums, high-pressure equipment and the chemical range that foundry deposits need. Cleaning a foundry with shop supplies takes days and still leaves the deposits.

Done safely

Equipment shut down and covered before anything starts, and the work done to OSHA standards by people who do it every week.

A schedule, not one clean

Regular inspections and a cleaning schedule keep a foundry in the state the first clean left it in. One-off cleans never hold.

How a Foundry Clean Runs

Preparation

Equipment is shut down and machinery covered so cleaning materials cannot reach what they should not.

Sweeping and scraping

Brooms, shovels and hand tools take loose debris and slag off the surfaces first.

Power washing

High-pressure water removes dirt, oil and hardened material that dry methods leave behind.

Chemical and final clean

Specialized solutions for stubborn stains, then a final pass with clean water before the area is handed back.

“The Recoveron team arrived on time and prepared with all of the required personal protective equipment and food safety requirements in hand. Once onsite their team was extremely self motivated, driven, and required very little oversight from our facility's resources other than general check-ins. Overall we were very impressed with the overhead pipe cleaning service that they provide. I would highly recommend their cleaning crew to any manufacturing facility needing this type of service.”

Luke Landscape Structures Inc Delano, MN

"We had some heavy dust/oil build-up on our Fresh Air intakes and Exhaust fans at the 30-foot ceiling left. Recoveron came in, blocked off the area, brushed and vacuumed the areas, and cleaned the floors when done.

Their group cleaned and painted a control room exterior and even cleaned and painted a workstation and safety barrier. They look very good.

Part of the group worked on the back wall behind the machinery, brushing and vacuuming it, making it look 100% better.
Thank you very much."

Charles Great Northern Corporation Appleton, WI

"We have utilized Recoveron for several painting and cleanup projects, with commendable work done each time. All projects, from the initial evaluation/quote to completion, have been successful with little intervention. We look forward to continuing business with Recoveron in the future! Great group of people!"

Jarrod Seneca Foods Corporation Janesville, WI

"Our 30+-year-old machining company was in dire need of professional cleaning, especially after the installation of 3 new large boring mills and an open house just around the corner! The walls and floor were covered in layers of grease, oil, and coolant. I had several local cleaners in to review and quote the project…. all declined; it was outside of their capability, and they wouldn't touch it.

After calling Recoveron, I could sense they had seen it all before. Their team came out to review and quote the project….. didn't even blink an eye… they could do the job, NO PROBLEM! Plus, they would work during the Off Shift so that we could continue to produce product for our customers. They coordinated the lifts and equipment, and the crew went to work over ten days, meeting with the shop foreman daily to coordinate a plan each night and setting the direction for ease and efficiency for both Recoveron and Lighting Machine. The crew was respectful, detailed, and systematic and took pride in their work; they treated our machine shop as if it were their own home.

The project cost was fair and reasonable, and we intend to engage Recoveron regularly to keep the shop in Tip-Top shape. I have already recommended other companies in our industry to give them a call!
It has been a delight to work with Recoveron; the results are dramatic and far exceeded our expectations!"

FAQ

Foundry: common questions

How is a foundry cleaned?

In stages. Preparation, shutting equipment down and covering machinery; sweeping and scraping loose debris and slag; power washing to remove dirt, oil and hardened material; chemical cleaning for stubborn contamination; then a final clean and a maintenance schedule.

What comes off a foundry?

Metal shavings, sand, oil, grease, slag and airborne dust, including hardened slag and deposits that sweeping and scraping cannot lift.

Why not have our own crew do it?

Equipment and time. Industrial vacuums, high-pressure equipment and the right chemical range take off in hours what shop supplies leave behind after days, and the work gets done without risking the machinery.

Does Recoveron comply with OSHA in a foundry?

Yes. We comply with OSHA standards and regulations and stay current on industry standards as they change.

How often should a foundry be cleaned?

On a schedule with regular inspections. A one-off clean does not hold in a foundry, because the process puts material back onto the surfaces immediately.
